The Haiti Project - First Look

Upon arriving back in the UK last week at Heathrow (and being a little too wrapped up in seemingly important things like whether the plane would land in the snow or if my train would be running) I was immediately greeted and numbed by the horrific and shocking news reports that followed after the Haiti Earthquake. As the magnitude of the disaster continues to grow by the day, I was very keen (like most people) to do 'something'.

Thus 'The Haiti Project' - a charity download album - was born. Within a few days of sending emails and calls to my nearest and dearest friends an album quite literally 'came together'.

The album is spearheaded by the anthemic debut track from 'The Sonic Graffiti', a new band from LA put together by Ginger Wildheart, Billy Morrison, Michael Butler & Scott Lipps. The track entitled 'Mystery Number' was recorded at Matt Sorums studio in August 2009 & was produced by the legendary Mike Clink.

I'd like to personally say a big thankyou to Ginger, Billy, Michael, Scott & Mike for donating this exclusive track, and allowing 'The Haiti Project' to (hopefully) raise even more money.

Electric Six - Bodyshot (Warning Nudity...)

So this is banned from Youtube for obvious reasons, meaning that most people won't have seen Electric Six's latest surreal video 'Bodyshot'. The song is taken from their new album 'Kill' and is available from Round Records across Europe. Check it out.

There is still some web exclusive 'Laundry Day' Ginger T-shirts and Prints in Gingers webstore. The t-shirt was taken from the infamous 'Laundry Day' gig that took place in Nottingham during Gingers solo tour in 2009.

Limited to just 200 (and not available anywhere else) the T-shirt comes complete with a Limited Edition Photo print.

2009 was another great year for Round Records, finished in fine style at Ginger's Birthday Bash at the Relentless Garage in London on the 17th December. 28 Musicians came together and performed for almost 3 hours, in a one of a kind gig. Its probably the most ambitious show we've ever put together, but the months of planning more than paid off.

Michael Butler from the Rock n Roll geek show was one of the musicians who took part (he flew in from San Francisco) and has just released his latest podcast where he details his trip and reviews the gig. Check it out at the link below. He also plays some great music from The Wildhearts, The Loyalties, Eureka Machines & Honeycrack.

In other live news, Electric Six finished off their sold out UK tour in fine fashion at the Islington Academy (also on the 17th December) in support of their most recent Round Records release 'Kill'. Its fair to say that the E6 guys are one of the best live bands in the business (and quite possibly the nicest people you'll ever meet) and if you haven't checked out anything post 'Gay Bar' then you are really missing out.

Our New York signings Tragedy (The All Metal Tribute to The Bee Gees) were also out on tour in the UK in December, successfully completing their first 2 week headline jaunt. This trip marked their 4th visit to the UK in 12 months, and their sold out final show in London on the 16th December was a fitting end to the year. 2010 could be a great year for this lycra clad glitter machine.
